Tottenham Hotspur’s rich vein of form in the Premier League was abruptly ended on Saturday afternoon, but one selection decision has continued to annoy sections of the Spurs faithful.Jose Mourinho’s side were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, meaning the north Londoners are now four points from breaking into the top four.The Portuguese boss made a couple of huge moves, such as dropping Dele Alli and changing the system to three-at-the-back, whilst teenage striker Troy Parrott continued to be looked over.And such a call hasn’t gone down too well with supporters at all.Here’s what has been said…

Several fans were simply baffled by the 18-year-old’s exclusion as the side currently have no striker available for selection following the injuries suffered to Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

One member of the Spurs fanbase called Mourinho’s decision “senseless” whilst another claimed they had nothing to lose so they might as well let him play.

It led to a debate over the Portuguese boss and his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino, who many believe would have given Parrott a chance by now if he were still in charge.

A further supporter believed Mourinho was trying to prove a point whereas another described it as a “perfect opportunity” to see what the young Irishman has to offer.

There was even a comparison made to former Spurs forward Marcus Edwards, who left north London for Portugal in the summer.

He’s scored six times in all competitions for his new side Vitoria this season, including a goal against rivals Arsenal in the Europa League, and he was even once likened to Lionel Messi.

For some, there were question marks over his attitude, but whether such criticism is warranted remains to be seen for the time being.
